“If an egg is broken by an outside force, life ends. If broken by an inside force, life begins. Great things always begin from the Inside”

Jim Kurk

Nowadays, and as it has always been, we are living under harsh and complicated conditions compassing all the aspects of our daily lives such as security related aspects and economic ones to name a few. However, in order for us to better cope with such conditions, we need to be equipped with adequate personal and psychological skills.

Nevertheless, the constant absence of parents from the household due to life challenges impacts the children’s personality in a way that hinders them from facing those challenges and preventing them from building their personality: their intellect, behavior and performance…

Moreover, it’s true that the academic -school and university- programs are multi-dimensional; they cover scientific, literary, intellectual, social, religious, technological and physical education areas, yet a core component. They lack integrated programs that build, strengthen and empower the individual’s personality.

Most of these complicated conditions result from:

Some of the reasons behind many personality problems.

Undoubtedly, the above mentioned factors hinder the progress of individuals and prevent them from fulfilling their dreams. Moreover, this poses further psychological, behavioral and social problems some of which read as follows:

  • Imbalanced personality disorder
  • Rejectful behavior
  • A feeling of instability
  • Lack of concentration
  • Excessive shyness / introversion / Avoidance
  • Impertinence and rudeness
  • Lack of self-confidence and self-esteem
  • Excessive anxiety and loss of direction
  • Impatience and excessive irritability
  • Low Performance / Low Productivity
  • Distorted mindset
  • Reckless behavior and rashness in decision-making
  • Frequent problems with parents, friends and colleagues
  • Inability to set goals and to modify them
  • Inability to take initiative and decisions (at least not right ones)
  • A feeling of not belonging (to the family, the nation…)
  • Displaying negative habits and behaviors such as theft, lying, bullying…
  • Displaying abnormal behavior and a tendency to drift towards delinquent relationships that could culminate in substance addiction or suicide

Thus, out of this urgent need for psychological therapy and rectification, the idea of SHEIMAH was put forward.

SHEIMAH is a proactive, preventive and carefully-designed curriculum based on self-awareness, enlightening, strengthening and developing one’s personality  in order to relieve and even limit the occurrence of psychological and social problems disregarding to the complex circumstances that individuals’ might be facing inside and outside the household. Moreover, SHEIMAH seeks to define individual and collective targets required for achieving self-fulfillment and community development.

SHEIMAH also seeks to establish a sound community that thrives on coexistence and integration aiming at helping the diverse generations to blend in and to communicate more effectively. This helps reshape the individuals’ personal identity and the society’s collective identity.

SHEIMAH aims at revolutionizing the educational and training curricula in the purpose of making a quantum leap through shifting from adopting a correctional approach when dealing with psycho-social problems to a carefully-designed preventive and proactive one. This would help relieve and reduce problems; thus, individuals would be able to focus on achieving their desired goals instead of wasting time and effort on solving problems.

Moreover, this integrated well-thought-out curriculum is designed in a way that could be easily modified after conducting a need analysis study to suit every individual, group or organization according to their needs, age, gender or circumstances.
